ROCK News for Oct. 25

+  Thanks to everyone who showed up for “The Goonies”, we had a blast! The picture and sound were amazing. We also had a great potluck dinner and got some event planning done as well. Please look at the upcoming calendar:

+  Get your pumpkin and Halloween costume and come hang for our annual Carving Party this Sunday! The best costume will win a $25 iTunes gift card and the best pumpkin will win a prize as well! Please bring a baked good to share, we will provide plenty of candy.

+  This fall ROCK will help out “Room in the Inn” on Wednesday evenings. The time frame is 5:45-7:30 (8:30 if you want to help out passing out clothing). I urge all of you to try to make it at least once per month. I will do my best to request every Wednesday off to participate as well. This is a great service project and all you have to do is show up! Email me for details.

We've had a nice spring so far in ROCK!
Two weeks ago, we had 22 participants in our annual Spring (R)lockin. We went to strike and spare in Hendersonville and had an open gym with movies and games going the whole time.

We followed that up last night with a great conversation about pop music and how it affects our faith as Catholics.

Next week is a very intense topic night on pornography. This may be something you want to discuss personally with your teen though I do know from experience it's not always the easiest conversation for parents to have with their teens.

We will have some general discussion and then split into groups by gender.

On the 18th we have a potluck dinner with a Jazz theme and Creole/Cajun themed food. This is a great way for the whole family to meet me and the other parents in the group.

If you are coming to the potluck, please bring a dish to share and RSVP: joet@ctk.org

Be blessed!

Greetings and salutations one and all.
Over the next month we are having the teens lead the nights. I am excited to see what they have in store for the group!

I think it is a great way for the group to bond and to assume leadership roles within the group and hopefully the church at large.

If you would like to lead a night, please contact me and let me know!
